Highcliffe House Team

Investor in People

The company employs a Training Co-Ordinator to ensure that all members of staff receive the correct training to enable them to support the needs of our residents.

As an "Investor in People", the company firmly believes that all staff should be encouraged to develop their skills, gain further knowledge and experience to enable them to be better informed and equipped for their role within the home. Each member of staff will, during the course of a year, receive regular supervision sessions and a Personal Development Review. An integral feature of these sessions will enable Matron and the member of staff concerned to identify any specific training requirements. As a statutory requirement all staff receive annual Fire training, Manual Handling training, adult Safeguarding and basic food hygiene.

The Nurse in Charge is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care and needs of the residents during the shift.

The Health Care Assistant Team Leader, along with the Nurse in Charge of the Shift or the nominated co-ordinator of the shift (Senior carer) ensures that the lines of communication are maintained, regarding the residents well being and that the trained nursing staff are aware of any changes or concerns. The Kitchen Manager ensures that the residents receive nutritious meals each day. Various diets are catered for. All the meals are prepared from fresh local produce, the seasons being taken into account. A team of Front of House assistants serve the residents meals in dining room or their own rooms. The Housekeeping department is lead by the Housekeeper. She is responsible for the cleanliness of the home and laundry services. A team of Domestic Assistants help.

The home is fortunate to have a handymen and a gardener who help with the general maintenance of the home. They are quite willing to help residents settle into their rooms by way of hanging pictures/photographs etc, or any other little jobs to personalise a room for a resident. Finally, the Administration of the home is under the direction of Alison and her Assistant, Heather Connolly.
